Bleacher seats rock!

A Lesson Learned: by Robin Thomas

I was a stereotypical, drag your chair, water bottle, snacks and sun screen to the side line, Soccer Mom. My son started running around the field after the ball, or other kids (hard to tell) when he was 5 years old. I would pick the best spot right at mid field and sit for the duration of the game. The parents would yell at the “Refs” because they thought they could see the plays better. “Off sides, Ref, are you blind?” Or “How did you not see that, Ref, the ball was out.” You can see better on the sidelines.

Fast forward 10 years and I am at a Varsity Soccer game for our High School. I traded in my camp chair for a bleacher chair. (A must have if you watch a lot of games)

I had my School sweat shirt, big coat, gloves, hat, water bottle, blanket and we climbed to the top of the bleachers because the higher up the better you can see. Actually, you can see the whole field, with all the players. You can see where the openings are and how the guy with the ball should avoid that giant mid fielder so he won’t lose it. Why did I think I could see so well at field level on the sidelines?

God not only has a bleacher seat in our life, he can see the whole field past, present, and future. God can see the defensive plays to help us keep the ball.

In life, when we trust HIM, God uses his excellent view of our life to re- route us and take us down a safer path to avoid the obstacles. That might come in the form of an illness, or a financial set back, the loss of a friendship or even the death of a loved one.

Do we understand every play? NO, but God is the winning Coach, he can see the whole field, so we need to trust that HE will get us a victory in the game of life.

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God has the best game plan, he has the best seats to the game, TRUST HIM!
