I was sitting in my car with my journal awaiting the voice of God. I started listening to the Cody Carnes song, “I Run to the Father”, and the words just began to flow.

Carry My Burden
by Robin Thomas
I run to you Father, fall into grace.
Give you my burden and fall on my face.
Surrendered before you, awaiting your voice,
To tell me your plans, Lord, your will for my life.
My secret desire is to fall at your feet,
Help me to share it with all that I meet.
Show me your plan, place it on my heart.
Speak to me, Lord, I’m fall apart.
I give you my burden, release my soul to your hand.
Help me to triumph in all that I am.
Carry my burden, lead me along.
Bring me to shelter and fill me with song.
Let me show joy, Lord, in all that I do.
Keep me transparent and point it to you.
Carry my burden, speak to my heart.
Help me to hear you, Lord, I’m falling apart.
Give me your strength, Lord, help me to see
All of the plans that you have for me.
I run to you Father,
Hear my heart break.
Open me up, Lord, and look into me.
Search me O Father, and see if there be
A will un-surrendered, complacent, not free.
And carry my burden,
Lift it away.
Filled with your Spirit,
Let me hear you today.
Carry my burden, lift it up high.
Carry the cross that wills me to die.
Open my soul, Lord, fill me with light.
You have no shadow, no day or no night.
Shine through my life, Lord
And help me to hear
Your voice as a whisper
Protect me from fear.
Carry my burden.
