A Lesson Learned: by Robin Thomas

I love Hallmark Movies. I have to wait for new ones to come out now because I have seen them all. I even got the Hallmark app so I wouldn’t miss any at Christmastime.
I will sit down to watch a Hallmark movie and my husband will say, “I will tell you how it ends. She gets the guy and they live happily ever after.” Well, duh. Why would I spend my hard earned free time watching it if it didn’t end happy?
Here’s the formula: Person who is orphaned, or has only one parent, goes through some trials and tribulations and has given up on love, but when they come back to their home town they fall in love with the boy/girl next door that they grew up with, and they live happily ever after.
So why do I watch them? Simple. They make me happy.
Yes, I already know the ending, but if you are a Christian you do too.
Our Happily Ever after is in Heaven, we get the God!
There will be “No more tears” (Rev 21:4) and moth and rust will not destroy (Matthew 6:19).
Christ conquered death, He literally overturned it, so when we accept Him we know the end of the story. The rest is just getting to know Him, or if you met Him as a child and strayed away, you come back to your home and fall in love again, and live happily ever after.
The movie of our life has us going through hard times, deaths, break-ups, illnesses, loss of money, health or friends. And then we have good times: friendships, marriages, children, prosperity, but in the end we get Eternity with our Savior. I’d say that is a pretty happy ending.
So, therefore, Christianity is like a Hallmark movie
Rejoice today, you know how it ends.
Bring on the popcorn!
