A Lesson Learned: by Robin Thomas

I like vampires, not the gory, horror flick types, but more the Team Edward in Twilight; Matthew De Clermont in All-Souls and “Buffy and Angel” type of vampires.
Guess what? I am not alone.
When Twilight came out in the movie theater it was filled with Moms and middle aged women deciding between Team Edward or Team Jacob.
Buffy and Angel had a 7 year run with a spin off and Angel, having a restored soul, helped the Scooby gang to overcome Hell on earth.
The All Souls Trilogy is awaiting the installment of Season Two based on a sweeping tale across place and time where Matthew seeks to unite the species to overcome their demise.
What drew us to these vampire stories? The broody vampires, of course.
What did we like about the broody vampires? Aside from the pleasing scenery, they were tortured souls seeking to do what was right. What was their sustenance? Blood. They needed blood to live. And you know what, so do we.
We need the blood of Jesus.
It is ONLY by the blood of Jesus that we may be saved.
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
Joyce Meyer says, “The blood of Jesus is the only antidote for death.”
If Jesus had lived and been a great teacher He would not have been able to save the world. It was only because of his blood sacrifice and death on the cross that we are free from sin. He took our place. His blood is the KEY here. His blood gives us power over demons, power over darkness, power to rise up and release ourselves from any personal HELL we have been in.
The blood of Jesus is power!
In the Old Testament God required blood sacrifice to please Him.
PASSOVER is based on the last plague before Moses led his people out of Egypt.
God required the sacrifice of an unblemished male lamb (sound familiar?) whose blood would be put over the door frame so the Angel of Death would PASSOVER their household and not slay the firstborn. God says,
“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” (Ephesians 12:13 NIV)
Blood is power, blood is life, blood saves.
We are metaphorical vampires. We need blood to survive. We need Jesus’ blood.
